Configure Utility Provider Rates

Configure utility provider rates in Program Settings to override regional rates.

Configure Utility Provider Rates

By default, Snugg Pro uses localized energy prices based on zip code and other factors when modeling a job. Program Admins can override these regional estimates by configuring electricity and natural gas rates for individual utility providers.

When a configured utility provider is selected for a job, Snugg Pro automatically applies the provider's configured rate as a manual utility price for modeling.

Configure utility provider rates

To configure rates for your program:

  1. Go to Settings > Program Settings > Utility Providers.

  2. Select Manual Price Overrides.

  3. Choose Electric or Gas.

  4. Find the utility provider you want to configure.

  5. Enter the rate for that provider:

    • Electric: dollars per kWh ($/kWh)

    • Natural Gas: dollars per Therm ($/Therm)

  6. Leave the rate blank if you want Snugg Pro to continue using the regional rate for that utility provider.

Rates can be configured separately for each approved utility provider in the program.

Important: A configured utility provider rate overrides the regional rate that Snugg Pro would otherwise use when modeling a job.

How configured rates are applied to jobs

In a job, select the appropriate utility provider in Input > Utility Bills.

When a utility provider is selected:

  • If the selected provider has a rate configured in Program Settings, Snugg Pro automatically populates that rate in Manual Utility Pricing & Settings.

  • The auto badge is removed from the applicable utility price field, indicating that the configured rate will be used instead of the automatically selected regional rate.

  • The configured rate is sent to the modeling engine when the job is modeled.

For example, if an electric utility provider has a configured rate of $0.20/kWh, selecting that provider for the job automatically sets the job's Electricity Price to $0.20/kWh.

What happens if no rate is configured?

If the utility provider's rate is left blank in Program Settings, Snugg Pro continues to automatically determine the regional utility rate when the job is modeled.

The auto badge remains on the utility price field to indicate that automatic pricing is being used.

Example

A Program Admin configures Atlantic City Electric with an electricity rate of $0.20/kWh.

When Atlantic City Electric is selected as the electric utility provider for a job:

  1. Electricity Price under Manual Utility Pricing & Settings is automatically populated with $0.20/kWh.

  2. The auto badge is removed from the Electricity Price field.

  3. $0.20/kWh is used instead of the regional electricity rate when the job is modeled.
