Simple costs
This is the default way of doing things on the Refine screen. Simple costs means that you only have a global cost for a given measure.
Detailed costs
With detailed costs, you have the ability to add multiple cost line items for a single recommendation. This gives users greater granularity when pricing the work.
In the same job, you can choose to use a combination of recommendations with detailed costs and recommendations with simple costs.
See example of detailed costs below:
Maintaining Cost templates
You must be a company admin to access this feature.
In order to speed up your workflow, you can maintain line items templates for detailed costs at the company level by going to Settings > Company > Cost Templates. These templates can be applied to the job and overridden later.
See screenshot of cost line item templates screen below:
Exporting the line item data
You can now export your cost templates so that you can make edits and reimport them. If you already have cost templates, you can click 'Export to CSV' to download.
Uploading in bulk
If you don't already have cost templates set up and you want to import line item templates in bulk, you'll need to download this CSV template. Once you're ready, you can upload your items by clicking 'Import from CSV'
If you are uploading via CSV, please note that we currently only support the unit types defined below. If left empty, the unit type will default to 'each'.
