Job templates are great time savers and allow you some consistency for all jobs presented by you or the company. You have the option to create unlimited templates at no charge. Templates are listed either as Personal or Company as ownership. You can use the sample template to get started, and change whatever you want on it and ask support to remove the sample watermark. Or you can develop your own template. You now have the ability to duplicate templates, which will allow you to develop multiple templates that could cover most jobs. Each template also has its own job number. Templates cannot be modeled.
From the left sidebar, click on Settings, then Job Templates.
This next screen will list all of your existing personal and/or company templates and give you the option of creating new ones.
Basic Templates
All templates are generic in nature. When you create the job from a template you assign the company, user and the program during the job creation process. This pulls the program logos, program pages/rebates, company logo/profile, and user profile into the job. These items never show on the template themselves, which allows templates to be used by multiple users for a multitude of different projects or programs.
When creating a basic template, you have many options.
Duplicate a Template
You can now duplicate templates to share them with yourself, your company colleagues and your program trade allies (if you have program-level permissions). These are the steps to duplicate a template:
Click on the settings menu at the bottom left side of your screen
Click on the "Job Templates" item
Click on the template you want to share
In the template job's header, click the template name. This will open the header info modal
Find the "Duplicate" link
Choose whether you want to duplicate this template as a personal, company or program template (permissions permitting).
Recommendations
Add unlimited caption/photo rows with boilerplate text and photos for each recommendation.
Edit the subtitles for each recommendation.
Sort the recommendations by your preference for the homeowner report.
Custom recommendations - if you have something that includes cost but it not one of the standard recommendations that is modeled for efficiency.
Declined recommendations - if you want all template jobs to show a certain recommendation as always declined.
Additional Notes - if you often want to point out certain details to the homeowner (on a variety of subjects) that do not include cost, and are not included in the modeling results.
Edit “Why it Matters” text for each recommendation.
Set the correct Wind Zone for your region in the air sealing recommendation.
Additional Options
Set the base and/or improved fields on a recommendation - only if you always use the same values for a certain item. Some programs require you to use vintage base values for example. This should be given some consideration and is not encouraged by us.
Set the default cost fields if appropriate, this would only be an option on a few recommendations, as some cost is dependant on a combination of things like total R value and sq/ft.
Manual utility pricing. For many areas that use tiered pricing for electric rates you may want to set the manual pricing to reflect an average. This can also just be adjusted on an individual job.
Customize the Report:
Add a standard homeowner greeting on cover page
Select a report color theme
Report Settings / Pages: turn pages off or on for the homeowner report
Report Settings / Elements: edit the display of some elements, turn them off/on, or sort elements of the recommendations to display differently on the homeowner report.
Any field that turns yellow when you hover over it on the report view may be edited.
Specific Template
If you are in an area where many homes are the same size, style, have the same HVAC systems, etc., you could build a specific template just for those jobs and include some building info. For example, an area of attached 2-story townhomes, or one-story detached homes that have the same basic build, you can add building info to the input screen. It’s important to not indicate the primary heating fuel on the template if not all the homes are the same.
Editing a Template
You can edit a personal template at any time.
Anyone that is an admin on the company account can edit a company template.
Click on the template button from the left sidebar. Click on the name of the template to open it All edits are saved automatically.
With the template open, click on the name field at the top of the page to edit the name of the template.
