Green Button Data
The Green Button initiative is an industry-led effort to provide utility customers with easy and secure access to their energy usage information in a consumer-friendly and computer-friendly format.
Most participating providers have a green button logo on their website.
Snugg Pro Options
You have the option request Green Button data from the homeowner, if the participating utility is on the list. Or call and check with the utility in your area to see if they are offering the Green Button yet.
These buttons in the Snugg Pro app are assuming that you have already downloaded the Green Button data and have the XML files available for this home.
The 'Upload Green Button Data' button is referring to the XML file. It does not take you to the homeowners utility.
The instructions below will help you and the homeowners find and retrieve the files for importing Green Button data into Snugg Pro:
These steps are compatible with most utilities that offer the Green Button. If you find some variations, be sure to just keep looking for “usage” rather than bills.
First open your utility account online, and find the data usage
Next, click the My Energy button.
Next, click the Energy History button.
Which, will finally take you to the Green Button.
After clicking the Green Button you can choose the file type for download. At this time we only accept the XML file format.
If you have both natural gas and electric with one provider, this procedure will download both files. Save the files to your computer, then upload the specific file that Snugg Pro ask for.
If your utility does not offer the Green Button, just keep requesting it
