Geotagging Photos

How to configure and use photo geotagging in Snugg Pro

Updated over 3 months ago

A new requirement of IRA rebate programs requires geotagging of photos. Because of this requirement, we've added this to our standard photo upload component. It can be required or optional based on the needs of the photo upload.

Configuration

There are two areas where file and photo uploads are configured: Workflows and Incentives templates.

Workflows

As a program administrator, go to the Your Programs in Settings and select the desired program. Go to the Workflow tab and create or Edit a Workflow Ticket Template.

In the Files to Upload section, there is a checkbox next to the Required checkbox of each File in each Category:

Checking this box will require the upload to be a photo and to be uploaded using a camera.

Workflows

Once configured, any workflow that has file uploads that are configured to require Geotagging will have a tile labeled 'Geotag a photo'.

  1. Go to the job that requires geotagging

  2. Select Tickets in upper right corner

  3. Select the workflow that has geotagging enabled

  4. Click on the File Uploads tab and you will see the tiles that require geotagging labeled 'Geotag a photo':

Once you click on the tile, it may prompt for access to your location and/or camera:

Be sure to Allow access to both of these. If you have issues, please see this knowledge base article to troubleshoot different browsers.

5. After granting access, the Camera modal will appear where you can Take a photo. Take the photo and click Add.

6. Once added, it replaces the card with the photo and a 'Geotagged' checkmark.

Hovering over the photo will display a delete icon where you can delete the photo and take another. To see the latitude and longitude, click on the photo and it will show this along with the date and time the photo was taken.
