Request Data Access

To import data for a job, you need to request that the customer authorize your access to their data. You can do this by sending an automated request email using our prompts.

Go to Input > Utility Bills > How would you like to enter the data? start by selecting UtilityAPI and clicking Authorize Utility API.

In the Import modal, you'll need to specify what kind of utility data you'd like to import, choose the utility provider and enter the customer's email address.

You'll see a preview of the cost to import data. This is a one time cost added to your SnuggPro invoice to connect the job and import data.

You may want to give the customer a heads up and let them know to expect and email from SnuggPro where they'll be prompted to log in to their utility provider's online account to grant you access; you won't be able to import any data until they do this.

Customer Email

When customers receive their Data Access Request, it will look like the example email below.

Granting Access

When customers click the orange "Approve this Request" in their email, they will be directed to an authorization page that looks like the example below. Here they need to enter the username and password that they normally use to access their utility online account. They also need to sign the authorization using their full name.

After they have clicked "Authorize Access and Data Sharing" the customer will see the Authorization Receipt page, which they can save if they choose.

Pending Requests & Data Import

Once your request has been sent, you'll see a green message under Utility Bills notifying you of when the request was sent. After the customer has granted access, a new message will appear and then SnuggPro will automatically fetch data from the utility provider and fill in the fields bellow.

Refreshing Data

As long as the utility customer does not revoke access, data can be re-fetched every month. Each additional re-fetch will incur new charges.
